I told myself I wouldn’t take a good picture of my car until I get that black shit off the bumper. Sorry.
Ever since I got the new wheels on my car, there’s been a squeaking/clicking noise coming from the front left. It sounds a lot like something is wedged in the tire, but I couldn’t find anything when I took it off. Also, it seems to only happen under load; I was spinning the hub with the wheel off and the car on a jack and it didn’t make any noise. It’s not brakes either, the sound doesn’t change if I’m on the brakes, it just varies with how fast I’m going. What the heck is wrong with my Fit?

How’s wheel clearance to the brake caliper or dust shield ? Is there a peddle stuck in the tire tread that might be clacking away?

My initial thoughts are either wheel weights touching a caliper or a rock in the tread.

ball joint or tie rod?

Didn’t think of that... I was looking for some signs of wear around the hub but I didn’t think about the caliper touching the rim. I’ll check it out tomorrow

That’s what I’m worried about, the fact that it only started happening when I got the new wheels seems odd though

Oh I had the old tires put on the new wheels, and I’ve never noticed any excessive wear. I didn’t notice any play yesterday when I had the wheel off, but I should probably check again

Are your brake shims where they’re supposed to be?

Dust shield?

I don’t think so, I checked it to see if it was loose or it looked like it was scraping on anything and it wasn’t

Hmm, I’ll have to check it out next time I’ve got a minute. Didn’t think about that
